Baba has inspired me with her beautiful Sunday meme of photos of sunrises and sunsets. So I am joining the photo group today with these two photos. The first one I shot when the sun was low in the sky and perhaps 2o minutes before the actual sunset. I love the way the sunlight has turned the rocks a off the coast of Mazatlan a bright golden color.

This second photo was taken by my daughter Dawn. It is the silhouette of a statue of a couple. I tried to find out more about it, but Google gave me very little information. So I surmise they are lovers. They are among the many statues on the Malecón, Puerto Vallarta’s broad waterfront.

Our blogger friend, Carmi, has a thematic photo challenge each week. This week it is photos that fit the word Sweet. Here is my sweetest photo for this week’s theme.
This was taken in Mexico a few weeks ago when Bob and I took our daughter and grand daughter on a cruise. Her ninth year birthday gift from her mother was a swim with the dolphins. I think the expression on both their faces expresses the word “sweet” perfectly.
Click on the photo to enlarge. I needed to change the enlarged size to 75% to get the entire photo. Hope this works well for you.

Simply had to post these photo of the twins on Thanksgiving. The paper hats are from an activity at their nursery school and proudly worn just long enough for Nana to point the camera in their direction.

We had a wonderful time with Kristi, Theresa, and our grandchildren. It was a pleasure to meet Theresa’s mother for the first time and to share our Thanksgiving dinner with her, as well.
So today is Black Friday and this year I am nestling up at home and avoiding all shopping. It just feels good to have a warm cup of coffee nearby, my fuzzy slippers on my feet, and the computer purring along nicely. Who needs crowds!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so I want to take a moment to wish everyone a blessed and happy day before I begin making my green bean casserole and the Harvard beets that will go with us to be a part of dinner at Kristi and Theresa’s house.
I have been thinking a lot about the holidays and I believe there is some wisdom in celebrating Thanksgiving before the Christmas rush. Not that it was historically planned that way, but taking time to be thankful for family and friends, prosperity and good health, love and respect puts the Christmas season with all of its stress and problems into perspective and helps to focus on the true meaning of the Christmas tradition.
So here is my wish for everyone. May Thanksgiving Day be spent with those you love. May your dinner be bountiful and may you be blessed with peaceful gratitude for all the wonders of life.

I don’t know about you, but I find these early sunsets, long dark evenings, and late sunrises very depressing. However, I do enjoy the cooler days on the desert. Our daytime temperatures are in the high 70’s and the sky clear with just wispy little clouds to break the monotony.
During the summer I walked the dogs either very early morning or after the sun went down in the evening. Now the good news is that I can walk them at the very civilized hour of three in the afternoon. I walk Lucky first. We practice sits, stays, down, and other commands as we make our way around one square block. Then I bring him home and pick up LuAnn and repeat the procedure with her. Finally, I return home get Lucky and take both dogs for a block long walk. They are perfectly behaved when walking without a sibling, but when walking both, they are obnoxious. They pull on their leashes, bark at strangers, and pay no attention to commands. Still I am optimistic because each time I take the two together, I begin to see little glimpses of progress.
Tomorrow I will head to the store and get the ingredients I need to make a few dishes to take to Kristi’s for Thanksgiving, but now I am on the way to the gym to work off a few of those cruise pounds. Then it is off to lunch with friends.
I have the memory book pages for the 2nd day finished. I just have the tedious and time consuming work of making the album for the blog. So check in later. I will have them up either today or tomorrow.
However if you really want a hoot, take a look at Dawn, Jade, and me dancing to the song, YMCA. Click on the title to the right of the picture to view video. The Gentleman in the video is Joe Burrow a member of the WWII USNR Midshipmen’s School Alumni Group of which Bob is President.
