Wouldn’t you no it we have arrived for some of the coldest weather experienced in this low desert area. When i look at all the warm weather clothes that I brought with – all pressed and neatly folded, and realize unless the weather changes quickly they will all go home still pressed and neatly folded. I am making the most of the one sweater and the jeans that I wore on the way down here.
Inspite of this Bob and I are having a wonderful time and to complain that the weather is in only in the 60’s doesn’t seem right when there are so many storms around the rest of the U.S.
On Saturday, Bob and I drove into Palm Springs to take in the Palm Springs Follies. If you are not familiar the Follies are made up of old and older singers and dancers. Frequently, they have had long careers on Broadway or in Las Vegas. All in all, they put on a good show and one that we like to take in whenever we can. However, this year, I realized how old Bob and Ib have become. The youngest in the show is 56 – a year older than my oldest child. Of course many in the troop are in their 70’s and 80’s.

The other attraction that made our day was the statue of Marilyn Monroe that towers above everything on the Main Street. The cameras were snapping and the tourist thronging. It was typical Palm Spring funky and I had to laugh out-loud when the guy behind us mentioned that she needed a jacket thrown over those gorgeous shoulders. Needless to say we are having a great time. Tonight, Bob’s Daughter Dee and her husband Gerry will drop by our RV Park and we will all set out for dinner at a nearby restaurant. I am looking forward to both their visit and dinner out because as you know, RVers have to cook most of the time. No chefs or maids or other help for the every day chores. Tomorrow, I will meet up with an old Gateway School friend who is living down here for lunch and shopping. I am looking forward to catching up on her life and adventures. More later.
Did you see Lou? Hope you are having fun and that all is well with you! See you in April when we are in RC.
Way to go! Have lots of fun. Wish I could join you.
Sixty degrees, family stoppin’ by for dinner, seeing old friends, gosh what a wonderful trip. The statue of Marilyn Monroe is stunning.
Blessings ~ Maxi
Marilyn was born in 1926. Perhaps, had she lived, she would have been the star of the show. Now that would have been worth seeing !
Hey I know the “old” feeling. As I wrote in my blog I am 23 days and 2 years away from 80
Keep having fun and traveling—kinda wish I could too.
Maria, your life seems like one long holiday!
The only thing I am jealous about is your weather. The snow has finally melted and the temperatures risen to 41°F and hopefully it will stay up there for the week ahead.
